The Experience Economy:

X Marks the Spot

Welcome to the Experience Economy!

You’ve probably heard about this in the form of alphabet soup like…

CX for Customer Experience
EX for Employee Experience
UX for User Experience
And so on

New job titles like Customer Experience Rep have replaced traditional customer service roles. New departments in large organizations carry department names like Employee Experience Team. Typically, these are associated with other Human Resources functions.

Entire companies have emerged to improve user experiences (especially in the tech sector). Agencies focus heavily on Digital Experiences. As consumers, employees, and users… we’re all focused on the Total Experience including how we FEEL about our time spent engaging at every touchpoint with an organization.

Any organization that fails to deliberately focus on the X’s -- the experiences they provide to employees and customers and users – is an organization that is vulnerable. Ignoring the X’s means missed opportunities to retain and engage employees, to deeply satisfy customers, and to become providers of choice.
